Followers weeks of speculation and rumour, MMOG developer Cryptic Studios has habitual that it has licensed the rights to develop and bring out Adept Trek Online.

Inscrutable has promised to reveal details all but the game, on with gameplay video clips, at the yearly Star Trek Formula in Las Vegas, attractive place connected Grand 10. The event will also be webcast live, purchasable via the official Star Trek Online website.

"When the opportunity came for Mystifying to obtain the license for Star Trek, we were utterly thrilled," said Chief Creative Officer Jack Emmert in a message on the website, shadowing the announcement. "I realized how many people at Cryptic idolised the IP when the possibility of U.S. acquiring the rights leaked bent the ease of the troupe. I had more Trekkies in my office asking to work on the project than I ever notional."

"There are few other fictional backgrounds that fit the MMORPG medium so considerably," atomic number 2 continued. "After all, Wi Trek was never about a single grapheme, ship or even planet; Star Trek was always about an entire universe. And MMORPGs are unambiguously suited to create such a thing and give up players to explore every inch."

Star Trek Online was originally in the work force of Ageless Entertainment, which was also working on the Gods and Heroes: Rome Acclivitous MMOG, but the company came to grief in late 2007, laying off 40 people in September and then announcing in November that it had delayed growing on Gods and Heroes sol it could focus solely on Star Trek Online. Despite its best efforts, however, Uninterrupted, by then renamed to P2 Amusement, was removed as the project's developer in January 2008.

Star Trek Online is being developed for both PC and consoles. For more than information, travel (boldly) to startrekonline.com.
